Hey there everyone!
WOW! That pretty much explains these past two weeks! First off I got the awesome
opportunity to host a student from Great River High School in Minnesota. I was so excited! After football practice was over I hurried over to Barker basement to meet Malcolm. After we meet we ate dinner in
Pfeiffer. Then we went to a forum event about Vote Smart. That was actually intense, it help me learn about voting. Our next stop was the volleyball game. We cheered our girls on as they beat
Debuque in three games! When the volleyball game ended I introduced him to the campus. We went around Barker and Kresge and meet a bunch of students. Some students were football players others were Theater major and others English majors. Down stairs Barker was our last stop of the night. We watched The
Waterboy, my favorite movie, played cards and talked. We ended up staying down there until 1:30 in the morning even though I had 5:30 a.m. weightlifting the next day. It was a humbling experience as I allowed him to take my bed and I slept on the floor. =)
Last weekend was a blast! My mom and my
step dad came up from Miami and we hung out! It was so cool to see them since it has been almost 2 months since we last saw
each other. We had so much fun watching t.v. on Barkers BIG SCREEN in the basement. I also beat my
step dad in pool!!! Well
OK it was 3 games to 3. I broke even.
Lol... That Sunday we ate brunch at
Pfeiffer, which I must say was amazingly
delicious. Afterwards, they were on there way back home. =/ we had a blast though. Now, I can't wait until I get to go back home now!!
Homecoming week is right around the corner! And guess what...... my dad is gonna come up! And my grandpa might come that week or the next. How sweet is that! Yeah so basically almost every weekend is a family reunion for me. =) I'm loving it.
We started
FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes) on Monday and it was a great turn out. We have
a lot of things planned and it sounds like this could be a big deal so get involved!
Tuesday was an intense day for me. I had an interview with 3 Pioneer representatives for a mentoring/internship program for Carver Fellows. I rocked!! I was totally on point. Everything was going good. How you ever had that feeling when you tell someone something and later you are like, "Man I could have said this to make it sound better, or to give it more of an affect." Well I didn't have that feeling at all! I was saying the right things just like I practiced, I made eye contact, I didn't
studder and I SMILED!! So I am excited to see what the result for that are.
Whoa, someone came up to me the other day and said, "Greg I totally voted for you to be homecoming king". To say the least, I was
baffled. I had no idea that we even did that in college.
At least not for freshman I thought. Well,
apparently I was on there and I most
definitely voted for me! =) I was thinking about campaigning once I knew I was on the ballot but I didn't want to annoy anyone so I left it in the peoples hands.
There is
definitely a lot going on at Simpson and
a lot going on for me personally. So thank you for joining me on a wild adventure of events on Simpson campus. See ya later! ;-)
God Bless, Greg
